BIO

My work explores the area between the mundane and the surreal while dealing with a sense of nostalgia and mortality. I always look to the simple aspects of life and find ways to turn it on its head, whether it’s mailboxes, portraits of my best friend, or old cars in the neighborhood I grew up in.

Coming from a background of film editing, I’ve learned the importance of subtlety-- the slight reaction to a statement, the slight camera move indicating a significant moment coming up, or the continuity of invisible editing throughout the movie.

All of these aspects of film that I’ve come to appreciate translate into my photography work. Through subtle twists to seemingly mundane subject matter, I’m able to convey my fascination with impermanence and fading memories.
